1939.

A discreet advertisement in The Lady, addressed 'To those who appreciate Gentian, Lavender and Sunshine', offers a small clifftop villa for rent, above a bay on the French Riviera.

Four women.

Four very different women come together.

The dishevelled and downtrodden Mrs Law, the sad, sweet-faced Mrs Peters, the formidable widow Mrs Cohen and the ravishing socialite Frau Gärtner are drawn to the shores of the Mediterranean. They all, in turn, blossom in the warmth of the summer, and find their spirits stirring when quite unexpected changes occur.

Glorious Summer is a delightful depiction of what it is like to rediscover joy.

In progress.
